"L" Facts!
For Colorado, on June 18,
2000, Mike Lansing tripled in the first inning, homered in the second,
doubled in the third, and singled in the fouth. That's right, he hit
for the cycle by the fourth inning.
Mickey Lolich, who pitched for 16 years, hit his only home run in his first World Series game (1968).
In 1986, Barry Larkin
had a spirited battle in spring training with Kurt Stillwell for the
starting shortstop job. Larkin hit a two run homer on Opening Day
that year.
Not only does Jose Lima
love to celebrate on the field, but he likes to sing and dance off
it. He has performed at restaurants and nightclubs and even has
recorded a couple of CDs.
